Ateneo upsets UST

The Ateneo Lady Eagles made a firing game to upset the UST Tigresses yesterday by winning in three straight sets, score are: 25-23, 25-14, and finally, 25-20.

Fille Cainglet, Bea Pascual, and Kara Acevedo slug it out for a combined 35 points to stop Aiza Maizo's offensive end with only 16 points. As for other players, Angeline Gervacio contributed wuth 9, Gretchen Ho with 8, and Jamenea Ferrer with 4 points.

As for the side of UST, Maika Ortiz made 8 points of her own, as Rhea Dimaculangan and Judy Ann Caballejo was only limited to 5 and 4 points respectively.

DLSU Lady Spikers deters UE Lady Warriors

Standing tall at the top, the DLSU Lady Spikers deter UE Lady Warriors in three sets, scores are: 25-17, 25-17, 25-21. Sophomore Abigail MaraƱo is the player of the game with 15 points, as Jacqueline Alarca and Michelle Gumabao made 13 and 11 points respectively.

Captain Charleehn Cruz added 5, Stephanie Mercado and Joanne Siy with 4 points apiece, as rookies Cyd Demecillo and Mikaela Esperanza combined for 3 points.

As for the side of UE, Mary Christel Rosale took charge with 12 points, backing up Rosale's performance are Jimberly Dizon and Ma. Teresa Caballero with 6 points apiece, while Sheisha Nebrida, Lorie Lyn Longalong and Abegail Ponon combined for five points in the game.

Lady Bulldogs shocks Tigresses

Even though UST has won, the NU Lady Bulldogs put up a good fight to shock the UST Tigresses in order to face a gruelling five sets, scores are: 22-25, 25-21, 18-25, 25-20, and finally, 17-15.

Aiza Maizo once again lead the pack with her 29 points (26 from attacks). Second leading-scorer for the Tigresses is Maruja Banaticla with 12. Veterans Maika Ortiz uncorked with 9, Judy Ann Caballejo with 7, and Rhea Dimaculangan with 6. Midori Hirotsuji and Valerie Amar contributed one point apiece in the game.

As for NU, Maricar Nepomuceno shows her A-game with her own 26 points. Backing-up Nepomuceno are Carmina Aganon with 15, Rialen Sante with 13, and team captain Mervic Mangui with 12. The other two who made exceptional efforts are Jocelyn Soliven and Elaine Sagun who combined for 5 points.
