EXPECTED VOLLEYBALL PLAYERS TO STEP-UP
Exactly one month before UAAP Season 73 volleyball games will begin, I'll give you the players, who, as far as I know can contribute to their respective teams, here they are:
1) Aiza Maizo (UST)

Since Angelli Tabaquero has graduated already, and since Dindin Santiago transferred to NU, there's no other player who can provide such leadership than Aiza Maizo. The Tigresses should lean on her leadership so that they can maintain their championship. She can block, she can dig, and not to mention, she can attack, she's an all-around player.
2) Angela Benting (AdU)

When we say Adamson, one of the names tagged is Angela Benting. Although she's quite small, she can really spike hard and play defense most of the time. Being the captain that she is, for sure she can bring the Lady Falcons to the Final Four once again this year.
3) Angeline Gervacio (ADMU)

Aside from Bea Pascual and Kara Acevedo, Angeline Gervacio is one offensive threat of Ateneo. She can bring up the 'fire' to the team, she can spike hard everytime she is in the front line. Consistency is the key for her. If she can pile up fifteen (15) points per game, no doubt Ateneo will be on the Final Four this year.
4) Joanne Siy (DLSU)

Being the Best Blocker last UAAP season, expect Joanne Siy to step it up a notch. Being a freshman last year, she gave a LOT of promise to the De La Salle Squad.
5) Mervic Mangui (NU)

Mervic Mangui is the HEART and SOUL of the National University Lady Bulldogs. After Cardoniga and Castro's exit last year, she has now become the main attacker of the squad. I could say that she is now maturing as a veteran player, being #4 in the Best Attackers wasn't bad after all.

QUEEN SEON DUK PREVIEW PART 1: Episodes 1-31
It's almost half already of the year, and in addition to that, I've already finished watching the first half of the Koreanovela 'Queen Seon Duk' -Yes, the highest-rating koreanovela of 2009-; To give you some of the happenings I've watched in this drama, I'll give you a preview regarding the first half episodes of this drama and I'll give you all my comments (at my outmost fair judging) regarding this drama. So bear with with me okay, Here they are:
1) I HATE MISAENG, BUT I LOVE MISHIL. Mishil's brother, Misaeng is for me, a character who is only relying on Mishil's power (of course no doubt about it, just like Seolwon, Eulje, Hajong and Bojong). He's the character that has so many words to say, but what he's saying doesn't suit him because he is sometime overpowered by his sister, Mishil. Not to mention, most of his plans were thrown away, just because of the mere fact that he doesn't know what to do when his plans would fail. Out of his plans, he has only shown 25% achievement, oh not really, his plan was to kill Princess Deokman not Princess Cheonmyeong.
On the other hand, I love Mishil because of these five reasons: One, she's so POWERFUL -she dethroned King Jinji!-. Two, at least HER PLANS WORKED OUT (unlike Misaeng), she will do her evil plans at the right time. Three, look at those POOPING EYES- it's very expressive. Four, Go Hyun Jung really worked it out as the infectious, evilicious Lady Mishil, and I could say she really fits in her role. Fifth, whenver she plans to do something, it has always come from behind. Above all, I like Lady Mishil among all of the villain roles I've seen in some Koreanovelas, and I could say Go Hyun Jung really deserves that MBC "Daesang (Highest Excellence)" Award she got last December 2009.2) WHO's SEORI?. Ooops, I didn't take that seriously and literally, PEACE!. I mean at first, Who is she? and Why is it that she's one of the Mishi;'s friends?. Episodes came, until that Episode 23 when I realized her role in the story -She is the one telling Mishil when will be the next eclipse (Of course, Mishil wants that, it's Heaven's Will - She will do something bad again). It's too bad that I recognize her on the latter part of the story, until Episode 25/26 when she died. But nevertheless, I like her because she's not really as evil as Mishil, she has still CONSCIENCE.
3) I LIKE HWARANGS.They're brave, they're strong and they're fearless. For me, I like Yushin, Alcheon and Imjong. Oh I forgot one name -WOLYA- I'm looking forward to this character.

4) SHIYEOL -A SPECIAL CHARACTER-.
Moon Ji Yoon plays Shi Yeol, a character with a heart. Among all of the hwarangs, he is unique from the rest because even though he's not that brave, he still catched my attention. Why?, because he is the hwarang who really brings the importance of FRIENDSHIP. He clings on & gives advices to his co-hwarangs for moral support and for the hope on becoming a strong man. I have to say, that I was touched and I was crying deep inside when he died on this drama.

5) THE ENTRANCE OF BIDAM. Episode 22 came, and Bidam is there!. Well, there's nothing special for me when he came, aside from his deep character and good looks. But I hope, he will
bring excitement to the show. Well, I could say his character really believes that Princess Deokman will be a great leader until she became Queen Seon Duk. In fairness to his character, he (togther with Kim Yushin) helped Princess Deokman to bring her to the palace in Episode 28 & finally Episode 29. Also, he is still on Princess Deokman's side, even though he's the son of Lady Mishil from King Jinji. I hope Bidam will continue to be on Princess Deokman's side and will bring their friendship always in their hearts in the upcoming episodes.6) WOMAN-TO-WOMAN CATFIGHT. Princess Deokman is SMART and she really knows WHAT TO DO WITH HER PEOPLE; But Mishil is POWERFUL!. What I could say is that, both of them has her own strengths and weaknesses, I love Princess Deokman for her STRONG PERSONALITY and I also love Lady Mishil for her witty actions.
7) THE YUSHIN-DEOKMAN-BIDAM LOVE TRIANGLE. I love Yushin for Princess Deokman, not because Bidam is the son of Mishil, but because Yushin is willing to give his all to become a great loyal friend to Princess Deokman. (Look at the photo below, they're very cool!).
8) WHY DO I'D STILL LIKE DAENAMBO?. Among all of the antagonists, for me, he is worth-watching. Because even though I don't like his father (Misaeng), the camera love his face, it's very pleasant to my eyes, and everytime I get to see him on the show, he looks so innocent and his looks and action are very deceiving, which makes me more surprised.

MY OWN PREDICTIONS FOR THE METRO MANILA TEAMS OF SHAKEY's V-LEAGUE, SEASON 7, 1st Conference:
1) SSC-R Lady Stags: For me, they are an all-around team. Why?, because from spiking, blocking, and digging, they have the capacity to do so. They have also efficient guest players such as the crowd favorite Suzanne Roces and the unstoppable attacker Jaroensri Bualee. One thing more, there's also a "Baby Bualee" in the team, in the presence of their team captain, Analyn Joy Benito.
* KEY TO CHAMPIONSHIP: San Sebastian should have the sheer determination in receiving and attacking from start to finish. Mind you, I've seen that during the Game One of the Finals last year.
2) UST Tigresses: Whatever rotation it was, UST still have offense. It's no doubt that UST is still one of the teams to look out for this conference. The double duo (Maizo and Tabaquero), are there to step-up whenever the team needs to uplift their phase of the game.
* KEY TO DEFENDING THE CROWN: Just keep the hot start during the first and second round of eliminations. From there, they will have the confidence to battle it out for the finals.
3) AdU Lady Falcons: Well, there's Jill Gustilo and Angela Benting, but they will need the blocing proficiency of Paulina Soriano. But with their reinforcements of Nerissa Bautista and Charmaine Moralde, for sure the Lady Falcons are so hard to beat. In addition to that, Lizlee Ann Gata is one girl that play 'real' defense inside the court, she's not the Best Receiver for nothing.
* KEY TO CHAMPIONSHIP: Just continue the tight defense, then setter Lourdes Patilano will have to decide of to whom she will set the ball.
4) ADMU Lady Eagles: I think the Lady Eagles have already the courage to go against high-caliber teams such as UST and San Sebastian. With their UAAP Line-UP, and two superb guest players, for sure, Ateneo is one of the contenders this season.
*KEY TO CHAMPIONSHIP: Consistency in their good reception and varied attacks that's the success for the Lady Eagles this time around. Leadership- is still one quality that Ateneo still possess in the likes of Bea Pascual, Kara Acevedo, and veteran/guest player Charo Soriano.
5) FEU Lady Tamaraws: Well, the mainstays are there- Shaira Gonzales, Cherry Mae Vivas, Monique Tiangco, Mary Rose Cabanag, April Jose, and Rose Anne Taganas. I think for FEU, they should focus more on their defense first before generating their offense. Their line-up is still good, but the players should work extra hard in order to boost themselves into the Final 4.
* KEY TO CHAMPIONSHIP: For FEU, just take it one step at a time. For them to do that, just be relaxed (well, not too over relaxed), and focus on their each and every game; That will led them to give their best in winning their games. In addition to that, with the entrance of Rachel Anne Daquis in the second round of eliminations, they will get thier groove again, and prove to their competitors that they really deserve a slot in the Final Four.
6) CSB Lady Blazers: Katty Kwan, Renilyne Agero, and Zharmaine Velez are still improving game per game. Not to mention Giza Yumang, she has been all-out to give CSB a full blast of confidence to the team.
*KEY TO CHAMPIONSHIP: With Rossan Fajardo in their team, she really proves that she can go head-tohead with the other guest players in the league. With strong attacks and continued blocking, for sure the Lady Blazers have a 'say' in battling it out for the goal.

7) LPU Lad Pirates: Here's the thing I've noticed for Lyceum: a) Syvie Artates and Jamie Pena can bring Leadership to the team, b) Nasella Guliman can block well and STEPPED UP their game and, c) Nicollete Tabafunda has a GREAT FLOATER SERVE. If all these are consistent, then Lyceum can be on of the Final 4 Teams.
MY OWN PREDICTIONS FOR THE VISAYAN TEAMS ON SHAKEY's V-LEAGUE SEASON 7, 1st CONFERENCE:
1) USLS Lady Stingers. The Lady Stingers should dwell more on the Aplasca sisters (Kay & Jade) together with Patty Orendain. For more attacks, give it to guest player Jovelyn Gonzaga, but for more blocking efficiency, then guest player Michelle Laborte will handle that.
2) USJ-R Lady Jaguars. Michelle Simbajon and Michiko Castaneda are a plus to the team. USJ-R should focus more on their attacks, on whether it should be off-the-block, drop shot or down the line.
3) SWU Lady Cobras. The Cebu-based squad is really a threat to the Metro Manila teams, being the champions in their mother league is really a potential to the team considering that this is their first entrance in Shakey's V-League. Oh! I forgot, they got a Thai guest player too!.
